Designed for payment ecosystem organisations and produced in Berghem’s labs, Ratel® is a solution that allows issuers, authorizing processors, and other entities in the financial industry to conduct a thorough testing process to verify if they actually provide security in their transactions against major electronic fraud.
The tool allows financial transactions to be manipulated, simulating actual attacks and attempts at fraud, as well as examining all of the elements involved in the payment process using cards with an EMV chip or contactless technology (NFC) in both debit and credit transactions.
Berghem has devised a modified EMV card reader that simulates transactions at a Payment Terminal and retrieves the card information and sends it to this new tool.
Despite being more secure than cards without a chip, the EMV card is also a breeding ground for physical and electronic fraud.
